Groups Overview
The Groups feature allows users to post important announcements, share valuable resources, promote events, and collaborate with others. Portal Admin have the ability to manage Groups.
Polls provide an easy way to collect data. Users can create original poll questions/thoughts and multiple poll options. Polls provide useful information, revealing group member interest, preferences, and/or opinions.

Consider Poll Topics
Poll Topics can range from asking for feedback or preferences regarding Group activity specifics to polling Group members on fun topics as a way to generate Group engagement.

- What's your favorite elective?
- What are you looking forward to in the fall semester?
- Which meal do you want for the Friday night study session?
Add a Poll
Groups > "Group" > Discussion > Add Poll
1. Navigate to the specific Group.

2. Select the Discussion tab.
3. Click Add Poll.
4. Type a thought or question.
5. Type Poll options.
6. Add an additional Poll option, if needed.
7. Click in the data field to edit a Poll option, if necessary.
8. Select Remove poll to remove the poll, if necessary.
Clicking Remove poll will immediately remove all poll options without further removal confirmation.
9. Click Post when finished.
Vote for a Poll
Groups > "Group" > Discussion > "Poll"
1. Navigate to the specific Group.
2. View the specific Poll.
3. Click on the circle to select an answer.
4. Select Submit.
A user will not be able to edit a vote after submitting.
After submitting a poll option, a user will be able to view the standing results of the Poll but not voter specifics, such as which users voted for each poll option.
View Poll Votes
Groups > "Group" > Discussion > "Poll"
After voting, a user can view the standing results of a Poll. However, only users who have permission to edit the Post can see the specifics of a Poll, such as which users voted for each poll option.
1. Navigate to the specific Poll.
2. Hover over # votes.
If a user has the necessary permissions and is allowed to view which users voted for each poll option, a line will appear under the number of votes, indicating a link to more information.
3. Click on the # votes to view voter specifics.

The dialogue box will display the following information:
- Poll option
- Number of votes
- Percentage of voters who voted for that poll option (i.e. In this example, only two votes have been cast, and those two votes were cast for Pasta.)
- Usernames indicating who voted for that poll option
